Really convenient with the Co-op just opposite and river just a few minutes away for dog walks. Lovely that the hotel/pub is dog friendly throughout. Staff were really friendly, efficient and helpful. Room was comfortable, clean and a good size. We loved the heated mirror (didn't steam up) which had a lighted frame which a touch screen on/off "button", very cool! TV was great as we happened to have a memory stick with stuff we wanted to watch on it and there was a USB port. Altogether, The Queen's Head had everything we needed and was a pleasure to stay at.

It was very dog friendly. I was a bit stressed as we were travelling for the first time with our new puppy but we were made very welcome. We also arrived late on our first night and they kindly waited for us even after reception was closed. The room itself was spacious, comfortable and full of character and charm. We had a very nice young lady Yulia, serving us at breakfast and she also provided excellent service and made us feel very welcome. We had a lovely stay!

The Manager was away and Jaime had been left in charge. She is an asset to this hotel. She did all that she could to make our stay comfortable. The room was good and clean. The en-suite toilet seat was cracked. Jaime replaced it. There was no marmalade for our first breakfast or gluten free bread for my wife (she is coeliac). Jaime sorted that out for next breakfast. An evening dinner was enjoyable and first rate in a good dining room

Jordaan the Manager has ony been in the hotel 11 months, but the work she has done is visible. After being very run down by previous managers, she has brought everything up to a good standard. The staff are efficient and friendly , and have time to chat. The room service ws efficient, and dining facilities excellent. The food was well prepared and a good price. The bar is always busy and friendly.

Travelling with my sister , it was a random pick to stay at the Queens Head based on availability and price. You do have to be mobile as there are quite a few flights of stairs and it is above a pub. If you aren't tolerant of noise on the weekend then you would likely complain. 😁. Dog friendly which is a plus as we got to spend breakfast with a lovely girl named Crumble!!
